Your EP “BK BABY” is available now. What can we expect?
Expect a project with substance. I wasn’t focused on making something that was meant to fit into a category, or cater to the radio. I really wanted to have fun experimenting with my sound, and give some insight to me as a person. Expect to know me a little better.

Take us back to the making journey of the album. What were your inspiration sources? What were some of the difficulties you’ve faced?

I loved this whole process, but I’d definitely be lying if I said I didn’t run into some issues. The pandemic hit very early on while making the album, and it was easy to be nihilistic about it all. I feel like I’m usually the dude who is the most positive-minded regardless of the situation, but it wasn’t easy to keep a clear head through it all at the very beginning. I had to stop taking myself so seriously and now we’re here.
I feel like more than anything with creating the album, it was my love for Film & Surrealism that helped me steer the soundscapes, and organize everything the way it is. I think BK Baby is a soundtrack for my wicked perspective of my life,  if that makes sense. I don’t want to call it a movie, it’s more episodic than that.

What kind of stories would you like to tell through your music?
I want to say the things that everyone is thinking, but never says, and tell the stories of the people who can’t speak for themselves.

A lot has changed in the past year. Did it affect your creative process? Or your perspective to some of the songs on the album?
At first it definitely did because the sessions were no longer in person, or weren’t happening at all. We all figured that out eventually -- It made me a better Producer though, and now I touch everything before it hits the mix / master. I’ve always been hands on, but now I’m a lot more confident with my skills, so I can drive the sessions.

Are there any collaborations on the album?
Every record is a collaboration for me, because I work closely with the Producers, and engineer. 9 out of 10 times we sat in a room and built the song from scratch.  I think the song with the least amount of collaboration was I’LL BE HONEST , and that’s because I felt I wanted it to be raw and as personal as possible. I worked with Jae Lee, Olson, Sam Affer, Chris Paul, Alex Oren on prod & vox.
